The West End Star and classical singer Russell Watson will join the current crop of celebrities in the show's haunted castle tonight, but before they can get pally with their fellow campmates they have to take on a trial - Stage Fright.

In a preview clip, the pair are seen dressed as jesters, with Ruthie in stocks and Russell stood over a barrel full of slime.

Before the trial starts, Jordan North advises the pair: "Don't overthink it, go to your happy place," which amuses co-hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly after he was left screeching about his "happy place" during a snake-filled trial earlier in the week.

Vernon Kay correctly guesses "chainmail" in answer to the joke: "What did medieval postmen wear?"

Ruthie is pelted with the gone-off foodstuff, and Ant says: "Oh, that is rotten tomatoes isn't it?"

Russell then has to bob for chainmail into a bucket of red slime.

It comes after Ruthie has told how former 'I'm A Celebrity' star John Barrowman persuaded her to take part in the show.

She said: "John was the one who told me I should go in. And so he is to blame whether it is good or bad."

And the 53-year-old star - who previously dated Prince Edward on and off for five years - doesn't expect to be scared if there are any spooky trials because she has had a prank played on her by Edward and Prince Charles, when she was staying with them by a loch in Scotland.

She said: "I got jumped out on by Charles and Edward when I was having a cookout with them! They told me there were ghosts in this particular place and when I went to the toilet with a candle - as there was no electricity - they waited for me to come out and then jumped out on me!

"I screamed the place down! I may well have woken Victoria! They were hilarious."
