Bosses of the Latin and ballroom show are said to be keen to sign up the former 'Coronation Street star, who has raised £159,000 for charity after completing a 10 marathons in 10 days challenge on Wednesday (20.05.21).

Ryan - who has 14-month-old son Roman with his fiancée Lucy Mecklenburgh - is said to be "considering" the chance to appear in the programme later this year.

A source said: "Ryan turned the show down last year as he didn't want to be apart from Lucy and baby Roman for that long, but he's been offered a place again this year and he's considering it - once he's rested his aching feet that is."

BBC producers believe the former cobbles favourite could be a "really good" signing as he is well known for portraying Jason Grimshaw for 16 years in the ITV soap, as well as his show 'Absolutely India: Mancs in Mumbai' with brothers Adam and Scott Thomas.

The source added to The Sun Online: "Bosses think he'd be really good on the show. Everyone knows and loves him from 'Corrie' and his ITV show."

Ryan was visibly overwhelmed as he finished his 262-mile feat on Wednesday in aid of mental health charity CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably).

After completing the charity walk, he simply wrote: "I have no words."

Ryan stopped off at the 'Corrie' set on the final leg of his challenge, and earlier in the week, he was left emotional as he was surprised by his daughter, Scarlett, 12, during his walk.
