In last night's (13.06.18) double bill, soap fans saw Sair's character Alya Nazir and Carla Connor (Ali) clash in a fiery confrontation over their claims to the Underworld factory, with the former even changing the locks as people grieved at Aidan Connor's (Shayne Ward) funeral.

Opening up on what it was like filming the segment, she told BANG Showbiz: "Doing any scenes with Ali King is amazing - she's just brilliant.

"They were scary, though, I'm not going to lie. My adrenaline was at an all time high. I was shaking after the scenes and it took me a while to calm down. It's Alya taking on the Connors, which was quite scary."

The 30-year-old actress was delighted when she found out the storyline would see her take over control of the factory - which she has been left in Aidan's will.

She said: "I couldn't believe it - I was telling everyone! It's so exciting ... I will never stop being excited about being in 'Coronation Street' and having storylines like this, it never gets old. It's amazing."

Sair admitted she is "defensive" of her character, and tries to avoid checking in on social media reaction.

She explained: "I used to but there's a few of us that have stopped. I think, 'What's the point?' What's important is how I feel about the work I've done.

"What worries me is that people do confuse it with reality. I'm much nicer and only half as much of a b***h as Alya is."
