The 25-year-old presenter is set to host the new show alongside Peter Crouch and Alex Horne, and she's promised that the light-hearted entertainment series will be a "bag of fun".

Maya said: "It's giving you everything you missed out on this summer.

"All the sport, entertainment, comedy, music performances from artists whose tours have been cancelled and there's sports items from your favourite sports personalities.

"It's a bag of fun on a Saturday night, a light-hearted entertainment show. None of us are that serious so viewers can expect a laugh. There's something for everyone."

The BBC show is set to feature the biggest names from the world of sport, comedy and music.

And Maya is excited about the prospect of appearing on prime-time Saturday night television.

The presenter explained: "I'm looking forward to getting back on the telly. I'm looking forward to being able to showcase my personality on TV with a show I'm hosting.

"I haven't ever been a main host of a show on channels one to five so it feels like a massive deal. I'm looking forward to getting back on the telly and having a laugh."

Peter, 39, is confident 'Save Our Summer' will "put a smile on faces" as the UK emerges from the coronavirus lockdown.

Asked what viewers can expect from the series - which will debut on Saturday (06.06.20) on BBC One - he replied: "Hopefully it will put a smile on faces! That's the aim.

"I've signed up because I know it will be fun, hopefully everyone gets on board and has a great time with us.

"We have Olympians competing against each other, we have great music, acts surprising fans and me trying not to kill myself with a load of my football mates in extreme retirement videos."
