The 'Strictly Come Dancing' head judge was slammed earlier this week after Dianne Buswell and Radio 1 DJ Dev Griffin were surprisingly eliminated from the BBC Latin and ballroom show, and some disgruntled fans took their frustrations out on Shirley.

The 59-year-old star shared a video on Instagram of her about to undergo the intravenous treatment, and she added the caption: "Very happy to receive this drip today to help me get well. Full of all sorts of things vitamin c magnesium b12 and the list goes on.

"Feeling under the weather today as a result of a tough week. So @revivuk will have me up and running by Saturday. (sic)"

And in the clip, she introduced her fans to a Revive employee who explained why Shirley was having the drip and what it is all about.

She said: "It's a recovery infusion, which is great if you're feeling sick, hungover, jet lagged, or just under the weather. It's pumped with B12, it has an anti-inflammatory medication, vitamin C, magnesium, and all the good stuff that will help Shirley feel better."

Shirley added: "She knows her stuff. This is the first time for me to do it. So because I'm feeling under the weather and not so well I'm really looking forward to getting it."

Since Dev and Dianne's shock 'Strictly' departure, the pro dancer pleaded with angry fans to stop tweeting threats to Shirley, after one supporter asked her to help out.

The 30-year-old star tweeted: "Guys this is terrible you can not be bullying like this.

"It's awful and really upsets me to hear this .

"It's simply not ok and should never happen! (sic)"
