Snoochie Shy says she and her 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!' campmates were "very, very worried" when Richard Madeley was admitted to hospital during the series.
The BBC Radio 1Xtra DJ - who was the third star voted off the ITV show after Dame Arlene Phillips and Kadeena Cox - shared how all the campmates were concerned for the veteran broadcaster after he vanished from Gwrych Castle.
The 29-year-old star - whose real name is Cheyenne Davide - told The Sun newspaper: “In the middle of night, he just got ill, and then we was all told to just go to the campfire room, and then he just left, really.
“I think we was definitely worried. Obviously, he's our camp mate. And I know that obviously he was at The Clink so we only had, in the main camp, 24 hours of him.”
Despite this short time, Snoochie said the conditions in the camp let you to “bond with people very quickly”, so everyone became emotional after discovering Richard was OK.
She explained: “But you bond with people very quickly. So of course, we was very, very worried, that we didn't know what was going on.
“But then when we got the video message from him, I'm pretty sure the majority of us cried.”
However, the camp - which is based in Wales instead of the show's usual home in Australia due to uncertainty surrounding pandemic travel restrictions - were soothed by seeing the former ‘Richard and Judy’ star was in “good spirits” in a video played in camp.
She said: "But he seemed like he was in good spirits, as well. So it was really nice to have that video message, just because we had been worrying a lot.
“It's man like Rich. That's what I used to call him, man like Rich. When we saw this guy, he was just really nice, and it made us feel good to know that he was all right.”
Snoochie admitted it was “surreal” being in the camp with stars like the 65-year-old broadcaster.
He was unable to re-enter the camp due to breaking the show's "COVID bubble", because he had gone to hospital.
Naughty Boy became the fourth star voted off the series last night (08.12.21).
