With the news that Supergirl would be moving to a new network in The CW following its first season broadcast on CBS, came the instant rumours that it would be crossing over with shows on the same channel including Arrow, The Flash and DC's Legends of Tomorrow.

Now, actor Stephen Amell who plays Oliver Queen AKA Green Arrow in the Arrow series has said it's likely his character and Supergirl will meet at some point in the future.

He told Loaded: "Do bears you-know-what in the woods? I think that it's highly likely that if you have four DC superhero properties on one network, that is an opportunity that may not exist again and certainly hasn't ever existed in the history of television. I would expect that we would do something."

Arrow was The CW's launching pad for both The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow, really solidifying DC's place on the small screen and allowing characters from all three series to interact with one another and form part of this major modern-day DC universe we're currently experiencing.

It's going to be interesting going forward to see just how far The CW can push their crossovers and whether or not they'll take a huge leap into making a fifth series which would combine all of the show's various characters together against one singular force or enemy.

Arrow continues Wednesdays at 8pm on The CW, with Supergirl expected to debut on the network with its second season this fall.
