The 31-year-old pharmacy dispenser has become the latest amateur baker to leave the Channel 4 baking competition, after failing to impress judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith in Tuesday’s (13.10.20) chocolate-themed episode.

Speaking as the result was announced, she said: "I'm gutted but what's done is done, I'm not going to be bitter about it. I've had a great time.

"I hate white chocolate, I hate chocolate, end of."

Sura’s newfound hatred for white chocolate comes as this week’s showstopper saw the bakers tasked with creating a white chocolate celebration cake, with Sura’s creation falling short of the mark.

Prue said of Sura’s bake: “It’s not edible”.

Elsewhere in Tuesday’s episode, the contestants made chocolate brownies for their signature challenge, and rustled up some chocolate babka - a kind of Jewish bread - in the technical.

Although fellow contestant Lottie Bedlow came last in the technical, and was told her brownies were a “car crash”, it was ultimately Sura who was sent home.

On the other end of the scale, Mark Lutton walked away as this week’s star baker, although it was Linda who came out on top of the technical.

Sura now joins Rowan Williams, Mak Patel, and Loriea Campbell-Clarey as the fourth contestant to leave the ‘Bake Off’ tent.

The remaining eight bakers will return next Tuesday for pastry week.
