This year (2022) has some brilliant TV series coming out, such as Marvel’s Moon Knight and The Staircase; however, streaming service Roku has a few tricks up its sleeve.

Swimming with Sharks is yet another Roku Original set to debut on the platform this year. Roku has welcomed shows such as Reno 911! Defunded and Doomlands to its roster, and is set to debut another in April, 2022.

Swimming with Sharks follows a young Hollywood intern named Lou Simms (Kiernan Shipka), who, when she begins her internship, is mesmerised by the studio’s CEO, Joyce Holt (Diane Kruger).

To be truthful, Lou has in fact done a great deal of research on Joyce, and interning at Fountain Pictures was no accident...

As the obsession surrounding her boss grows, it becomes clear that Lou will do absolutely anything to get closer to her idol.

The trailer for Swimming with Sharks has a rather sinister and unnerving vibe, just what you want from a drama series.

The show, led by Diane Kruger and Kiernan Shipka, (and from Kathleen Robertson, who serves as creator and showrunner), focuses on the darker side of the Hollywood studio system and an assistant who takes her own stand against an abusive boss.

For those in the media industry, Swimming with Sharks seems to be a show to watch, as the entirety of it appears to be one interesting situation you can’t look away from.

The trailer looks to perfectly encapsulate what the series will be like, highlighting the best parts for audiences to get excited about.

The cast, as well as Shipka and Kruger, includes Finn Jones, who played Danny Rand in Marvel’s Iron Fist, as well as Thomas Dekker, Ross Butler, as well as Ryan O’Nan, Donald Sutherland, Thomas Dekker, Finn Jones, Erika Alexander, Ross Butler and Gerardo Celasco.

Roku audiences can watch all six of the 30-minute episodes of Swimming with Sharks when it debuts on April 15th, 2022.
