The 'Patience' hitmakers - comprising former show judge Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald - have confirmed they will be taking to the stage at London's SSE Arena, Wembley, though they haven't confirmed speculation their former bandmate and current panelist Robbie Williams will be singing with them.

The band wrote on Twitter: "The rumours are true... we will return to the @TheXFactor (sic)"

Also performing during the two-part final are George Ezra and Ellie Goulding, as well as recent guest judge Nile Rodgers and his band Chic, and former winner James Arthur, who will team up with Anne-Marie for their 'Greatest Showman' cover 'Rewrite the Stars'.

Dalton Harris, Scarlett Lee and Anthony Russell will compete in this year's final.

Typically, the finalists all perform a celebrity duet but it hasn't yet been revealed who they will be partnered by.

However, Scarlett has previously admitted she'd love to team up with 'Impossible' hitmaker James.

Meanwhile, Gary recently claimed the show was edited to make him look like the "bad guy" during his three years on the judging panel.

He said: "They film you for eight hours until you've had enough and then you say something bad - and that's what they use when it goes out."

And ahead of this year's series, he warned Robbie - who is a judge alongside his wife Ayda Field, show boss Simon Cowell and former One Direction star Louis Tomlinson - he'd find the programme exhausting.

He said: "It's going to be great, but I know what's to come with that show. I know what it does to you. He's got some hard work ahead, that's for sure. I've told him it's a lot of hours - more than people realise. It's tiring."
