The Flash’s third season has provided fans with a lot of incredible material, some of it ripped straight from the pages of the DC comic books of the same name.

Now that Zoom has been dealt with following the chaotic events of season 2 however, we’ve seen nothing more of the Speedster after seeing him transformed into Black Flash by the Wraiths.

Speaking to TV Guide, actor Teddy Sears who plays Zoom said the door could be open for him to return in the near future, explaining: “Zoom has been transformed into Black Flash, who has quite a place in the mythology of The Flash. He’s like the grim reaper for some speedsters. Andrew Kreisberg, the head writer and EP, has talked about their interest in having a Black Flash return at some point in the series.

“It would be a lot of fun to drop back into that world. We’ll just have to see if the guys on the other end feel the same way. It sounds like they do, but it’s funny – now I belong to Fox [due to his role on 24: Legacy], so there’s lots of people that would have to give a thumbs up. But I really hope so.”

The Flash returns to The CW and Sky 1 in the US and UK in January, 2017.
