This year (2021) is full of entertainment-based surprises and exciting, long-awaited content. Everything from Marvel and Disney+ series Hawkeye, to the Apple TV+ Original starring Tom Hanks, Finch; this December, Disney+ will be the home of Will Smith-led series, Welcome to Earth.

We all know Will Smith to be a sensational (and a two-time academy award nominee) actor, one who has captured our hearts and humour with roles such as Will in The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Spooner in I, Robot (2004), I Am Legend (2004), and the Bad Boys franchise.

Smith has a sense of humour like no other, and his positivity and genuine happiness seeps into everything he loves, most likely including his global adventure in upcoming series, Welcome to Earth, from National Geographic.

In the new series, Smith will take a visually stunning, once-in-a-lifetime journey around the world in order to see and explore its greatest wonders, and reveal its many hidden secrets.

The actor showcased this amazing news on his Instagram; see below:

Welcome to Earth is executive produced by Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Darren Aronofsky (Black Swan, Requiem for a Dream), Protozoa Pictures, Jane Root’s Nutopia and Westbrook Studios.

Smith is guided by first class explorers on an incredible, memorable adventure; he will be getting close to some of the most incredible spectacles Earth has to offer: from volcanoes that rumble under their breath, to deserts that move beyond understanding, and animal swarms with minds of their own.

The elite adventurers that will be leading the beloved actor through these mind-blowing experiences are marine biologist and National Geographic Explorer Diva Amon, polar expeditionist Dwayne Fields, engineer and National Geographic Explorer Albert Lin, National Geographic Photographer Cristina Mittermeier, and mountaineer Erik Weihenmayer.

Smith seems the perfect man for this job, as his endless curiosity and enthusiasm to learn and witness what this planet has to offer; this alone will no doubt make Welcome to Earth not only a show to watch, but a show to remember.

The trailer shows Smith’s keen optimism and adoration for the world he lives in, and when he asked to be taken to the ends of the Earth, he was told he could ‘go further than that’.

Smith is shows in the depth of the ocean, stunning waterfalls, mysterious caves, driving jeeps down cascading, beige dunes; and a whole lot more; luckily, there isn’t too long to wait until we can see the planet in a totally different way.

Welcome to Earth will be streaming in December, 2021.
