The 40-year-old physician - who regularly gives out medical advice to viewers on 'This Morning' - is expecting her first child with her partner Stuart McKay.

She said: "There are two big ambitions I always had in life - one was to be a doctor and the other was to be a mother.

"As a doctor none of this is new to me, but when you're the patient the experience is the same as for anyone else.

"Having my scan was just the most amazing thing. It's so magical, the wonder of seeing this little life that's growing inside you."

Zoe was thinking about looking into using a sperm donor when she met Stuart, in a bar in Portugal, in September 2019.

She added to HELLO! magazine: "When I met Stuart I was considering having a baby on my own.

"As Stuart and I got to know each other it almost felt disingenuous and wrong not to talk about this thing that, in the months leading up to that, had been a really big part of my life.

"So on our third or fourth date I told him I needed to know what his intentions were if our relationship worked out."

Last month, Zoe revealed she suffered a cancer scare earlier in 2020.

She said: "My grandmother and my auntie both died of bowel cancer.

"I had a bowel cancer scare myself this year, but luckily everything is fine.

"I did put it off for a while, because my symptoms were a change in bowel habit - I was getting up in the middle of the night to go to the toilet, which is very unusual.

"I was keeping an eye on it, but obviously this year - with everything that's gone on - it could have been down to stress, it could have been down to so many things. So I did put it off but I was kind of monitoring it. But on one occasion, I had some blood in the stool as well, so that was my trigger.

"Straight away, I rang up my GP, booked an appointment, got referred, had the tests - which weren't very pleasant - but found out that everything was OK."
