Show executives are said to be worried about the addition of Katie Hopkins to the Celebrity Big Brother cast this year, despite them reportedly paying her over £400,000 to star.

Launching on Wednesday, the show is rumoured to see Katie enter the famous compound alongside stars such as Perez Hilton and Patsy Kensit, but she could cross the line, embarking on rants as she has done in the past, with previous targets including immigrants and the Scottish.

Reported to police for "hate crimes against fat people", Katie last week shocked further when she sent a series of tweets about Ebola victim Pauline Cafferkey and her transfer to a London hospital.

Speaking of those north of the border as "sweaty little jocks", she said that they were "Sending us Ebola bombs in the form of sweaty Glaswegians".

A petition for her arrest was started up in November after she called on the Israeli government to restart its bombing campaign on Palestine, branding them as "filthy little rodents".

Now chiefs for Big Brother have called in legal experts to watch over the series and stop her from getting into trouble, according to the Daily Star.

An insider told the newspaper: "Katie is sure to be a hit with Big Brother fans on the show.

"But she's also made a name for herself by crossing the line with some of her rants and BB bosses want to make sure she doesn't go too far."

Celebrity Big Brother launches 9pm on Channel 5, Wednesday January 7.
