Kelly Clarkson wasn't the only one brought to tears during her performance of 'Piece By Piece' on American Idol this week, with Jennifer Lopez and Keith Urban of the judging panel also visibly moved by the stirring rendition of the track.

The singer earned a standing ovation from everybody in attendance before apologising for getting so emotional, at which the crowd started chanting, "Kelly! Kelly! Kelly!"

"I'm pregnant, it's nostalgic and I can't believe it's the last season... I'm really sorry I just bawled!

"I'm actually quite proud that I made it that far. It's just a touching song for me because I wrote it about my little girl when I was pregnant and now I'm pregnant with my little boy... Who I hope comes out very soon!" she joked with show host Ryan Seacrest.

UK viewers can see the show in full next week on 4Music, with American Idol airing every Monday and Tuesday on the channel at 8pm.
