HBO teased the world late last night (February 11) as they unveiled 25 exciting new first look pictures from the sixth season of Game of Thrones.

In them, fan favourite characters including Arya Stark, Sansa and Daenerys Targaryen amongst others can be seen in various states, with the three women all fighting for survival as the odds continue to climb higher than ever before.
For the first time, fans of the franchise aren't able to turn to the novel series of which the television series is based for clues as to what may happen in the upcoming episodes, as the show will now overtake George R. R. Martin and his writing. This means shock value is going to be at an all time high and there could be some amazing surprises in store.
Though the pictures released are exciting they hold no information as to the fate of characters we were left wondering about at the end of the fifth season, including Jon Snow and Stannis Baratheon. We do however see Cersei following her public shaming from The High Sparrow and his religious following, as well as Margaery Tyrell still in chains.
The once powerful members of Westeros are slowly falling, so who will rise once the opportunity is given?
Game of Thrones returns in the US to HBO on April 24, and is expected to come to the UK the day after on Sky Atlantic.
