This weekend, EastEnders have released a statement via Digital Spy to confirm Danny Dyer’s job on the BBC One soap as Mick Carter isn’t one that could be potentially axed, despite recent reports to the contrary.

“There is absolutely no truth in this story,” they said. “Danny is a consummate professional and these alleged conversations have never taken place.”

Since his debut on the soap in December 2013, Dyer has been involved in a number of memorable storylines, including one where his son Johnny came out as gay.

His character recently took a break from the show however, forced to go to Bulgaria and look after his daughter Nancy after she was hit by a car.

The drama doesn’t look to be slowing down for Mick following his return to Albert Square, and he’s now got romantically involved with his daughter-in-law Whitney, despite his wife Linda making her Walford return after a six-month break.

With Linda also hiding a big secret from her husband, the drama is only going to get thicker, fast.

EastEnders continues throughout the week on BBC One.
