If you’re a fan of Charlotte Bellamy’s portrayal of Laurel in Emmerdale, you’re in for a treat. The actress has said she loves her role on the soap, and it’s not one she’ll be giving up willingly.

Speaking to Inside Soap, she explained: “I love this job. The only way I’ll leave is if they kill me off. I want to be like Freddie Jones [Sandy] – he’s 90 this year and still working, because it makes him feel alive. He’s a real inspiration! I’m so grateful to be in the show.”

She added: “I do miss filming with John [Middleton], but I’ve been filming with Gillian Kearney [Emma] lately, which has been fun. It’s a new dynamic with someone different.”

With footage of killer Emma Barton left in the Thomas household, things could quickly become interesting and even dangerous for Laurel. Let’s hope that comment about being killed off doesn’t come back to bite her!

Bellamy this year won the British Soap Award for Best Actress following her portrayal of Laurel in some highly emotional and dramatic scenes over the past few months.

Dealing with the love of her life, Ashley who was suffering from dementia ahead of his death, she’s been involved in some of the most memorable moments the soap has ever presented.

Emmerdale continues throughout the week on ITV.
