Adam Rickett will be returning to the world of soap this year, in a brand new guest role on Channel 4’s Hollyoaks as Nancy Osborne’s ex-boyfriend, Kyle. He’s not your typical ‘Jack the Lad’ however, and will be shedding light on a huge health problem that plagues many across the nation: Kyle is living with MS.

First appearing in the show when he bumps into Nancy at a support meeting, the two reminisce over the time they spent together, and it doesn’t take long for old feelings to start bubbling at the surface. With Nancy currently in a working relationship with Darren, could there be trouble ahead for the happy couple? Channel 4 are also teasing the chance of more problems with unrelated village residents…

Speaking about the role, Rickett said: “I am really happy to be joining Hollyoaks. I’ve had a lot of friends work on the show throughout the years and they’ve all told me what an amazing place it is to work so it’s really good to be a part of such a welcoming crowd.

“The key interest for me was in the storylines lined up for Kyle. I think they are amazing, taking the character on a real journey and something I am really enjoying playing a part in. Fingers crossed the audience like the surprises as they keep coming…”

No stranger to this world, Rickett is best known for his role as Nick Tilsley in Coronation Street and has also starred in New Zealand soap Shortland Street. He’s also a talent in the world of music, releasing his first single ‘I Breathe Again’ in 1999, which entered the charts at 5.

Kyle will first appear on screens in April. Hollyoaks continues weekdays at 6.30pm on Channel 4 with First Look episodes airing 7pm, weekdays on E4.
