Tonight's First Look E4 episode of Hollyoaks saw the court case against football coach abuser Buster Smith (Nathan Sussex) continue, with Gary Lucy returning to the soap so that his character Luke Morgan could take to the stand.

Sexually assaulted by a group of men himself, Luke was in court to give evidence against Buster following the coach's grooming and sexual assault of his son, Ollie Morgan (Aedan Duckworth).

Though many worried Ollie would never make it to the stand, the youngster was able to tell the court all of the details surrounding the abuse he had suffered, from beginning to end. Though his temper flared when he was asked if the abuse was fabricated in an attempt to bond with his father Luke, he managed to keep his cool and give all of his evidence.

Following the difficult testimony, Luke was escorted to the stand by police and admitted that he had struggled with an alcohol addiction during the time Ollie was being abused. Breaking down, he admits he believes he failed his son in the worst way.

When his own sexual assault was brought up however, Luke lost his temper and shouted abuse at Buster, even threatening to kill him if he was ever allowed out of prison. This saw him removed from the stand, and the court.

Lucy's performance was a masterclass from start to finish. He had viewers hanging on his every word, empathising with him throughout and hoping he will one day make it back to the soap full-time.

Hollyoaks continues weekdays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with First Look episodes weekdays at 7pm on E4.
