Darren and Karl's tussle on the street forces Libby to explain what is really going on: Darren has been having an affair. Karl asks why she didn't tell him sooner and Libby coldly replies that she didn't need a lecture about hearing Darren's side of the story from her equally unfaithful father. Still trying to make amends for her damning article falsely accusing farmer Gary of neglect, Elle writes an article to educate the city population about the difficulties of rural life. However, Erinsborough News editor Brad Jordan tells her it isn't good enough to print. Tenacious Elle keeps writing until Riley agrees that the article is perfect. Together they go back to Brad who is ready to refuse her once again but Elle has a new trick up her sleeve. This version isn't for him: it's for his rivals at the West Waratah Star. Valda can't bring herself to admit to Toadie and Steph that she sold her car to cover her debt from the collapse of Retail Dreams. Still allowing them to believe that the car was stolen, Valda finds herself committing fraud when she signs a false insurance claim.Attempting to make peace between his current girlfriend and his ex, Ned confronts Kirsten about her conversation with Janae. Unfortunately for Ned, this only annoys Janae more. Although they're all agreed that Kirsten's feelings for Ned are unrequited, Janae frets that her nemesis now knows just how threatened and insecure she feels. Unaware that Susan's MS diagnosis isn't common knowledge, Darren accidentally tells Harold and Lou. Still suffering with only limited sight, Susan prepares to leave the safety of the hospital, little realising that the news has spread like wildfire. The neighbours throw a street party to welcome her home but the attention is too much for Susan and she goes into hiding.
