The veteran actor was last year confirmed to join the soap and will hit screens next Tuesday, March 17 in the small role.

Following on from several months of illness for Stan Carter (Timothy West), the character is to take a turn for the worse and be taken to a nearby hospital, where he'll meet Andrew's character Cybil.

Cybil will become Stan's room-mate during a series of episodes which will see the character pass away due to his terminal prostate cancer, leaving the whole Carter family in turmoil.

Andrew's renowned for appearing opposite John Cleese as Manuel in Fawlty Towers, but has previously appeared in other shows which include ITV rival soap Coronation Street.

2009 saw the star join the soap for 27 episodes as Ramsay Clegg, the brother of Norris Cole, and he then went on to feature in an episode of Casualty a year later.
