Amanda Holden is PETA's newest star who's supporting the plant-based lifestyle. In her ad, she lies naked on a bed of green vegetables below the words "Go Veggie - Your Body Will Love You for It".

The ad reinforces the point that on the whole vegetarians are slimmer and have lower rates of heart disease and cancer than meat eaters.

The photo is completely untouched so the toned physique of the 45 year old is all-natural; shot by top photographer Trevor Leighton.

"My vegetarian lifestyle keeps my body trim, gives me loads of energy and makes me feel happy. So when PETA suggested not retouching this image, I said, "Why not?" - the image is as natural as my lifestyle."

"I have been a vegetarian since I was 13 …. For me, there are many benefits …. My skin's always good. I never feel bloated", explains Holden in an exclusive video interview with PETA. "The best thing you can do for animals is to just leave them off your plate".

Every person that goes veggie dramatically reduces their carbon footprint and spares the lives of many animals every year on factory farms, in abattoirs and on fishing boats.

Holden is part of a growing list of celebrities - including Vivienne Westwood, Sir Paul McCartney, John Bishop, Pamela Anderson, Lucy Watson and many more - who have teamed up with PETA (whose motto reads, in part, that "animals are not ours to eat") to promote meat-free meals.
