Cromwell has been an advocate of progressive causes, particularly animal rights for many years. He became a vegetarian in 1974 after seeing a stockyard in Texas. He then became an ethical vegan while playing the character of Farmer Hoggett in the 1995 film Babe. He often speaks out on issues regarding animal cruelty for PETA, mostly informing people about the treatment of pigs.

Kate Mara

Mara credits her vegan diet and regular workouts as her way of keeping in shape. She told The Independent; " I'm a massive animal lover, too." she explained. "Being vegan has been so good for me. I've never felt better."

Moby

Moby is a vegan and a supporter of animal rights.

In March 2010, he made his debut as an author when Gristle: From Factory Farms to Food Safety (Thinking Twice About the Meat We Eat) was published. The books is a collection of essays from people in the food industry.

Moby launched a vegan restaurant named Little Pine in Los Angeles that opened for business on November 20, 2015 and he personally runs the restaurant.

Liam Hemsworth

Hemsworth is vegan and in an interview with Men's Fitness that he revealed he found "no negatives to eating like this. I feel nothing but positive, mentally and physically." He was named PETA's Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrity of 2016.

Thandie Newton

Newton is vegan and was named PETA's "Sexiest Vegan of 2014" in the UK.

Bryan Adams

Adams has been a vegan since the age of 29. He originally made the shift for health reasons, but is also an advocate for animal rights.

Casey Affleck

Affleck supports many animal rights movements and campaigns for PETA and Farm Sanctuary. He is a vegan, and eats no "meat or any other animal products."

Kristen Bell

At age 11, Bell went vegetarian. In an interview with PETA, Bell stated, "I have always been an animal lover. I had a hard time disassociating the animals I cuddled with-dogs and cats, for example-from the animals on my plate, and I never really cared for the taste of meat. I always loved my Brussels sprouts !"

In 2012 Bell became vegan with her husband after they watched the documentary Forks Over Knives together.

Page practices a vegan lifestyle, and PETA named her and Jared Leto the Sexiest Vegetarians of 2014.

Bialik is a vegan and a founding member of the Shamayim V'Aretz Institute, a Jewish organization that promotes the ethical treatment of animals.

James Cameron

In 2012, Cameron, his wife and his children moved over to a vegan diet.

Cameron explains that "By changing what you eat, you will change the entire contract between the human species and the natural world".

When Cameron was asked 'what's the best thing an individual can do to fight climate change', he said, "Stop eating animals."

Deschanel is a vegan and supports many animal rights causes. In this she discusses how vegetarian and vegan diets help the environment. She has also spoken about animal rights.

The actress collaborated with PETA on a video encouraging mothers to raise their children as vegans.

Jenna Dewan-Tatum

Dewan is an animal rights activist and a vegan.

She is raising her daughter along with Channing Tatum as a vegetarian but apparently says she will let her decide what to eat when she gets old enough.

Ellie Goulding

Singer Goulding follows a vegan diet after being a vegetarian for years. She told US Weekly “I went vegan a few months ago. I feel leaner and healthier”.

Ariana Grande

After watching Blackfish, she urged fans to stop supporting SeaWorld and has since become a vegan.

Woody Harrelson

Harrelson is an ethical vegan and raw foodist. He doesn't eat meat, dairy, sugar or flour. In Zombieland, he played a character with a passion for Twinkies, but he did not eat the confectionery, he replaced them with faux-Twinkies made from cornmeal.
