Childs Farm, the UK’s fastest growing baby and child toiletries brand, has announced it has been awarded the Leaping Bunny certification by Cruelty Free International for its entire toiletries range - a guarantee that no Childs Farm product or any ingredient it contains has been tested on animals.

Since launching in 2010, the brand’s range of bath, skin, hair care products has remained 100% compliant with the European Commission’s ‘Cosmetics Directive’ which prohibits animal testing on individual toiletries ingredients as well as finished products.

Using only the best naturally derived ingredients and essential oils (that smell amazing!), the Childs Farm range of mild, kind and delicious-smelling toiletries cares for the hair and skin of newborns, babies and children.

It remains one of the very few baby and child ranges to undergo extensive clinical safety testing and controlled, independent home user trials on newborns and children with medically diagnosed infantile eczema to ensure the products can be used safely on babies and children with all skin types - even those with sensitive and also eczema-prone skin.

All products in the range have been certified vegan friendly and awarded the Vegan Society logo, with the exception of the conditioner and hair detangler, which both contain honey.

Driving a revolution in the baby and child toiletries category, the Leaping Bunny and Vegan Society certifications are the latest step in the company’s desire to help consumers be happy in their skin and better understand what goes into children’s toiletries and how they are tested, enabling them to make more informed decisions about the products they choose to use on their children’s skin.

Speaking about Childs Farm’s new certifications, Joanna Jensen, Founder and CEO said, “Consumers in general are becoming more ethically conscious. We’ve seen a huge increase in the number of our customers asking whether Childs Farm products are tested on animals and whether they are vegan friendly.”

“We are happy to announce that we have never tested any of our products on animals and the majority of our products are vegan friendly, and both accreditations will be displayed proudly on our packaging. We are all huge animal lovers at Childs Farm and we are proud to be supporting Cruelty Free International in their mission to end the animal testing of cosmetics globally.”

From humble beginnings on Joanna’s Hampshire farm, Childs Farm has now grown into the second largest brand in the Infant Care market. Its packaging reflects its roots, showcasing a host of animals from the farm who later became stars themselves on the brand’s 20-episode cartoon on Cartoonito.

Michelle Thew, CEO of Cruelty Free International, said: “We are delighted Childs Farm has met our rigorous no animal testing criteria and achieved Leaping Bunny certification for its entire toiletries range. We congratulate Childs Farm for demonstrating a commitment to eliminating animal testing and helping consumers make an informed decision about their shopping. There’s no reason for any animals to suffer or die for the sake of a moisturiser or shampoo.”

The Leaping Bunny and Vegan Society logos will be appearing on Childs Farm product packaging from September 2018 onwards.
