I was first recommended Kallo stock cubes by a fitness instructor at my local gym. She was trying to help me lose weight and I said how much I loved soup. She suggested I try Kallo cubes after I complained that my soups were too bland and I haven't bought anything else since.

Kallo Organic Vegetable Stock Cubes

Kallo Organic Vegetable Stock Cubes

Suitable for vegans, vegetarians lactose intolerants and coeliacs, these little cubes are a great addition to any soup, stew or broth and they're organic so you don't have to worry about them having any nasties in them that you can't see. The stocks are free of artificial colours, flavours, preservatives and MSG.

All you need to do is crumble one stock cube per 500 ml water into your soup, stew or broth and it saves you having to add in all you're seasoning separately. Easy!

If you are starting to cut down on your salt intake, Kallo also do a Very Low Salt Option too and you can't tell the difference either.

I tend to opt for the Yeast Free Vegetable Stock Cubes in the free from aisle in my local supermarket as they contain no sugar. Those people, like me, who are trying to cut sugar out of their diet as much as possible can rest easy.

Currently priced at £1 for 6 in Asda, they may sound expensive compared to other own brand bulk buy options, however a little goes a long way with these cubes. I also add them into my homemade bolognaise and chilli so I don't have to use a sugar laden jar of sauce and it has just as much flavour. That in itself will save you money on pre-made sauces which can be quite pricey.

They only mild inconvenience (and I'm being really picky here) is that they're moist unlike many other stock cubes so they're a bit sticky when you're crumbling them up to put in your stock pot, but it's a small price to pay for such a good quality, fresh tasting product.

Kallo also do:

Organic Tomato and Herb, Organic Mushroom, Organic Garlic and Herb and Organic French Onion which are all vegan too. I can't wait to try the other flavours in the range.

I have used Kallo Vegetable Stock Cubes for years new and I would never change to another brand. I recently recommended them to my mum too as she has got into making her own soup and I'm confident she won't go back to her old ways.
