Vegan on Female First

With something for everyone, there's over 160 stalls and caterers, over 40 talks and workshops, 10 cookery demos, live entertainment, a vegan bar, alternative therapy and children's activities. And entry is only £1 for adults, with under-16s receiving free admission.

The Festival features free food samples, recipes and nutritional guidance on a vegan lifestyle - which is great for the animals, the planet and yourself. Millions of animals are slaughtered for food every day in the UK; a vegan diet helps put an end to their suffering. Livestock are a major contributor to global warming, responsible for more emissions than all transport; so a vegan lifestyle helps the planet. Vegans suffer less from diseases such as coronary artery disease, certain types of cancer and diabetes; so you'll be helping yourself too!

The event offers a huge variety of tasty food from top vegan caterers, and a range of mouth-watering cookery demos to inspire you to create your own delicious dishes. But it's not all about food. There is ethical footwear and clothing and a wide range of cosmetics, plus animal sanctuaries rescues and campaigns, information about leading a more compassionate lifestyle, and over 40 inspiring talks.

There'll be live music and entertainment including live fire-eating, on stage all weekend, an all vegan bar by an award-winning organic brewery, a Kids Zone including a free all-day bouncy castle, a push-up contest, alternative therapies and a smoothie and juice bar.

The huge 2-day extravaganza is opened by professional English Freerunner, Tim Shieff and takes place on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th October between 10am and 6pm each day at Wolves Civic, North Street, and Wolverhampton Art Gallery, Lichfield Street, Wolverhampton WV1 1RQ. Entry to the West Midlands Vegan Festival is only £1 on the door, with under 16s entering for free.
