Jones met Trenchard at school and the couple have been married since 2nd March 1957.

They have a son together, Mark Woodward born in 1957- they were both aged 16 and married only one month before Trenchard gave birth. Before his rise to fame- he took up a job working in a glove factory and then construction to support his young family.
In an interview with The Daily Mail he said that despite their ups and downs, their secret is love; ‘Love is the main thing, but it is not like the love when you are passionate teenagers.
‘We grew up together, come from the same place, have the same sense of humour. That has a lot to do with it. How do you walk away from somebody that you get along so well with? What’s the point?
And we do still have a lot of laughs together. The first thing my wife asks me when I get home is: “Have you heard any good jokes lately?” ’
