Fifteen per cent of the men who take on organising a wedding say that they regret doing so and consider letting their bride-to-be take control.

Some men said they just downright wouldn’t organise a wedding in the first place with 14 per cent of men saying they think it would make them look effeminate.

A further 11 per cent fear that their bride-to-be would turn into a bridezilla, taking control and throwing all previous efforts out of the window.

Family politics puts 10 per cent of men off organising the big day, scared they will cause a family rift if something goes wrong.

The survey was commissioned by Universal Pictures (UK) to celebrate the release of The Five-Year Engagement on DVD and Blu-ray from 29th October and marks the launch of the world’s first ever men-only wedding concierge service.

Mantrimony is a Twitter based service, in partnership with Linda Cooper Weddings, which is there to offer men on all sorts of advice about their wedding and the surrounding events.

Celebrity wedding planner expert Linda Cooper who has 15 years’ experience in the industry will be on hand to provide industry advice and insider tips and tricks to ensuring the groom gets the bride to the altar in style.

The service will be free and open to the public with men tweeting their free of charge enquiry to twitter.com/mantrimony

Linda Cooper said, “We’ve been inspired by the recent phenomenon of men taking the reins when it comes to organising their weddings which is a startling trend which we see running and running.

“Traditionally, it’s been one of the few areas where women have dominated with every whim catered for but up until recently men have not necessarily known where to turn to.

“The new Mantrimony concierge service has been created to tap into this emerging market and offers a quick, easy destination for men who have questions about weddings – whether they’re confident or nervous grooms, we’ll try an answer any of their questions.”
