With just five days to go until Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tie the knot, Heathrow is celebrating the pair saying ‘I do’ by welcoming passengers who arrive during the ceremony on Saturday 19 May with a regal fanfare.

Inspired by the happy couple’s wedding cake, Heathrow is serving 1,000 handmade ‘royal’ lemon and elderflower cupcakes to inbound passengers, who will also be greeted by the sight of a Queen’s Guard, Beefeater and patriotic bunting, as well as the sounds of a Royal Trumpeter.

In the week leading up to the event (12 - 18 May 2018), Heathrow is due to see 9% more arrivals from North America and a 3.4% growth of total arrivals, versus 2017*.

Those waiting for their flights in the airport can rest assured they won’t miss the eagerly anticipated ceremony, with Heathrow confirming screens across all terminals will be tuned to BBC News 24, broadcasting the wedding live.  Large scale event TVs in Terminals 3 and 4 will be tuned to BBC1 for additional royal wedding coverage.
