  1. I bought a dress that I had fallen in love with but it didn't fit, so I had to buy another dress that was equally lovely. My mum worked her magic and combined the two dresses into one amazing dress!
  2. Ten days before the wedding I went to London to take part in photo shoots and interviews for the Avon #workityourway TV ad. Professionals styled us, applied our makeup and did our hair. It was incredible, I can honestly say it was one of the best experiences of my life and gave me loads of makeup tips for the wedding day
  3. On the wedding day itself, I hired a professional makeup and hairstylist who specialises in vintage looks. Laura Elston worked with me to achieve the vintage look I wanted for myself and my Matron of Honour
  4. As part of the preparation for the TV ad, Avon treated me to have my hair coloured and cut in Soho. This meant my fifties style hair that I wanted was ready for my big day
  5. To go along with the fifties theme, I spent ages scouring shops for tea cups and saucers to go on the tables at the reception. I managed to get loads of retro and vintage sweets to fill them, they looked great
  6. We had my favourite song as our first dance: Tangled up in you by Chaind. The song sums Richard and I up to a tee. He's stood by me through all the tough times and has been so supportive in the early days of building my business. I'm still as in love with him as when we first met
  7. When we were initially planning our wedding we had planned a very small affair as budget was tight. Due to the success of my Avon business, we managed to afford to invite all of our friends and family, we had the wedding of our dreams. It was just what I wanted, my family and friends sharing the most wonderful day of my life
  8. We had planned to go on a honeymoon after the wedding but after I was chosen for the TV ad we had to change plans as the TV ad was due to be launched 3 days after the wedding. Instead, we stayed at home and had a screening party on the launch night of the ad for our children and friends - I couldn't believe I was watching myself on TV!
  9. The flowers we had for the day were wonderful! I'd explained to the florist exactly what I wanted and we had the perfect vintage style post bouquets
  10. To top off all the wonderful memories of before, during and after my wedding, I worked my way up to the next level in my Avon business. When they say 'work it your way' that's exactly what they mean

As 'the company for women', Avon created two new TV ads to celebrate the women who represent Avon, and demonstrates that over the last 130 years, the brand has continued to offer great quality, affordable cosmetics and has remained true to its values, enabling women to #WorkItYourWay.

Since its conception, Avon has supported empowered women offering them the opportunity to work for themselves, fitting work around other responsibilities and priorities in their lives - it was the company to give women the opportunity to earn 34 years* before they could even vote.
