New York – the home of high-end fashion, skyscrapers and Carrie Bradshaw’s wardrobe. Luckily for 2018’s brides-to-be, leading fashion-forward wedding dress designer, Jesus Peiro, has taken inspiration from the city that never sleeps for the new swoon-worthy Metropolis Collection, available at select UK stockists.

As recently seen at New York Bridal Fashion Week, the Metropolis Collection features key trends for 2018 – think fringing, capes and capelets, the colour blue, high necks, bare shoulders and heavy lace with large patterns.

Jesus Peiro showcase the latest looks every fashionable bride needs to make that all-important entrance…

1). Shoulders above the rest. Shoulders are back and making a statement of their own. Keeping the dress simple and letting the shoulders do the talking with textures to wow.

2). Ruffles reign supreme. Romanticism is a wedding dress trend to fall in love with over and over again. For 2018, styles ramp up the romance with structured silhouettes, lace roses and curly flounces that float gracefully over brides’ bodies.

3). Stylish separates. Pulling the wedding dress tradition apart, literally, with separates. Add a touch of ‘laid back glam’ to the big day showstopper with mismatching floaty skirts and loose fitting tops, accentuating the waist with an eye-catching belt.

4). Sequins and tulle. What’s not to love? Fashion loving 2018 brides combine the latest on-trend style statements, bringing the catwalk to the wedding aisle.

5). High necks and sleeves. Perfect for the winter wedding where keeping warm doesn’t mean looking frumpy. Long, lace, and even puffball – sexy sleeves are here to stay.

6). Structure. Confident 2018 brides aren’t afraid to show their personality through their choice of wedding dress. Expect to see iconic-inspired structure, cut-out empire lines and rich, full, floor length gowns grace the catwalks and aisles – for looks that say, I’m here, without need for declaration.

7) Flirty fringing. Channel the free-spirited 70s with an altogether fresh take on fringing and watch yourself shimmy the night away.

8). Something…green? Blue hues were all over the catwalk at New York Bridal Fashion Week, but Taking the tradition of something blue on your wedding day to the next level. Subtle blue hues were all over the catwalk at New York Bridal Fashion Week. Jesus Peiro combine the trend with another key look – the cape.

9). Halter and lace. A timeless classic, the halter wedding dress gets an upgrade and an instant hit in the style stacks when paired with texture, ruffles, large print lace and a touch of blush.

10) Bardot beauty.  Summer’s sassiest style comes to bridal fashion for a truly classic and romantic look that works for both country and city chic weddings.
