East London was awash with celebrities last night including Kelly Rowland and Pearl Lowe on the red carpet, as Richard Branson and Natalie Imbruglia hosted their annual charity event, Through the Looking Glass.

Kelly Rowland, Pearl Lowe and the Duchess of York were among those rubbing shoulders to help promote the event which aims to eradicate Fistula: a life-shattering childbirth injury which affects thousands of women in Nigeria.

Kelly, who performed at the event, also expressed her happiness of Barack Obama as the new US President, a sentiment shared by Rita Marley who made a surprise appearance.

Through The Looking Glass has been organised by Virgin Unite and Sir Richard Branson.

The event is bringing together 350 of the world's most glamorous guests and over 30 A-list celebrities are expected to attend.

Virgin Unite is the non-for-profit foundation of the Virgin Group which works with partners all over the world to drive long term social and environmental change.

Virgin Unite's fundraising gala will support causes such as 'End of Fistula' a campaign working towards eradicating life-shattering childbirth injury which affects thousands of women in Nigeria and 'The ReGeneration UK' - a campaign empowering marginalised young people to transform their lives.

Celebrities will also be commenting on their thoughts of the American election results.
