Apprentice contestant Katie Hopkins caused outrage after claiming she would not let her children play with kids with “lower class” names like Chantelle and Tyler.

A passionate but wild rant on ITV's This Morning, that ended with presenter Holly Willoughby telling her to “stop right there”, has already had almost 9 million hits on YouTube.

Katie Hopkins has courted controversey herself facing a barrage of criticism in the media and online, but remains unrepentant, saying that she stands by her unpopular views - and will keep speaking out on controversial subjects, no matter how many people she offends.

In her un-pc rants Katie says:

“In this PC country filled to bursting with human rights and health and safety laws, there are things you are just not supposed to say anymore. Everyone wants to be liked. Politicians used to be leaders. Now they follow voters desperate for a tick in a box.
“No one stands up for what is right.
“Everyone is terrified of having an opinion. Smiling blankly like Chuka Umunna on a Botox high.
“Well I am not. I have strong opinions and I am not afraid to share them. Frustrated by all this PC claptrap, I stand up for what I believe in. I will call out the lazy, the idle and the ignorant. I will support the hard working, the industrious and the law.

Hopkins is quoted as saying “This is not the easy path to take. I would not recommend it to the thin-skinned. I have seen many a tear-strewn individual during my time working on daytime TV’s morning sofas. Individuals encouraged to share their views, ill prepared for the backlash that social media will deliver direct to you, unregulated and unrelenting.

She also says she stands by what she said on This Morning about names being a shortcut to understanding a child’s background and their upbringing. Tyler for example. When I shut my eyes I can already see the type of parent standing behind him. A legging-clad mum, carrying too much weight and a couple of Primark bags, both larger than her latest baby. There may be another one in the pipeline – but you can’t be sure.
.
Accordingly Katie is quoted as saying “I don’t want my children playing with Chardonnay, Charmaine, Jayden or Kyle. These are children of parents that prioritise Play Stations over learning and the TV over everything.

“Children with intelligent names: Monty, Bertie, Charlotte, Isabella, Florence tend to have more intelligent parents. These parents are willing to support their children more comprehensively.“If it makes me a snob to say this, then yes, I am a snob.

“In reality there is an army of mothers out there that think exactly the same way as I do. Their views on Tyler and Angel are whispered quietly at the school gate and their cliquey coffee mornings.

Finally finishing her rant she says “I bet I’m also not the only one who thinks that if you are obese, you should eat less, move more and lose weight.
"Would I employ you if you were obese? No I would not. You would give the wrong impression to the clients of my business. I need people to look energetic, professional and efficient. If you are obese you look lazy.

Is she right does obesity equal laziness, do the names Chantelle and Tyler mean kids with lower class parents - have your say below
