Balancing a career a family and keeping a relationship intact is a dilemha faced by many successful women. Kelly Hoppen has struggled with the this and recalls how she coped.
Dragons' Den star Kelly Hoppen had “10 years of hell” after her second divorce.
The 54-year-old businesswomen who split from her first husband Graham Corrett in 1989 and married Ed Miller the same year she ended her first marriage and found it difficult to be alone.
She told the The Daily Telegraph newspaper’s Stella magazine: “[Post divorce it was] 10 years of hell. I just think I went a bit mad. You can’t see it all the time. It was the crazy years.”
The blonde beauty enjoyed a romance with footballer Sol Campbell - who is 16 years younger than her - before she dated hairdresser Nicky Clarke who is believed to have cheated on her.
This shook her trust in men and made her realise she had the strength to be single since she was a successful businesswoman and had loving children.
She added: “I’d spent all this time trying to make my relationships work. It was madness. I had a successful business and lovely children and I was working very hard. One day I woke up and thought ‘What on earth am I doing?’ So I stopped. I decided I was happy on my own.”
This was when Kelly met John Gardiner and the pair are extremely happy together.
