A quarter of adults think Superman's from the bible
A quarter of adults think Superman is from the Bible.
The shocking numbers of parents were found to be confused about the origin of some of Hollywood's biggest blockbusters and claimed they thought stories such as Superman and Harry Potter were based on writings from the Old Testament, according to figures from the Bible Society.
Twenty-five percent of those questioned were unable to identify Adam and Eve as a religious tale and although they'd heard of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, more than half of them didn't know it was based on a story from the bible.
The society are appealing for parents to read holy stories to their children.
