‘Billy Elliot’ star Jamie Bell has revealed he is desperate to find a girlfriend.The 18-year-old actor, who was just 13 when he shot to fame in the critically acclaimed film, admits his acting career stopped him from meeting girls his own age while he was growing up He said: “After being 13 I was thrown into this world of craziness and the worst thing I missed out on in my childhood was the whole girlfriend thing. Sometimes when you go home you do feel out of touch a little bit. My friends are all with their girlfriends and it’s just completely natural. At times you feel a bit distant from it.” Bell hopes his new role in the £200million remake of ‘King Kong’, being directed by ‘Lord of the Rings’ movie maker Peter Jackson, will land him some romantic action. He added: “Maybe ‘King Kong’ will get me some action.” Meanwhile, the young star has vowed not to let fame and fortune go to his head.Bell admits he is wary about going off the rails like so many child stars before him but is confident he will be able to avoid the pitfalls of success.
He said in an interview with Britain’s The Sun newspaper : “I wouldn’t do a Macaulay Culkin. I have sensible people around me. I see this industry as a risky business.”
