The Rolling Stones' gigs in Poland may be cancelled because the country is in mourning following a fatal bus crash in the French Alps on Sunday. The rockers are due to play at the Sluzewiec Hippodrome on Wednesday night in what would be their first live date in Poland for nine years but the country's president, Lech Kaczynski is expected to call off the open-air concert out of respect to the 26 native Roman Catholic pilgrims who were killed in the accident. The victims had been on their way back to Poland after a trip to the holy Sanctuary of Notre Dame de la Salette, when the driver lost control of the bus, which crashed 50 feet (15.24 metres) down a river bank before bursting into flames.President Kaczynski declared three days of national mourning on Monday upon his return from France, where he had visited the crash site with French President Nicolas Sarkozy.
