Country star Doug Supernaw has been committed to a mental institution following a string of legal issues. The Reno singer entered the facility on Monday (02Jul07), according to Houston, Texas TV station KPRC.In April (07), a judge ordered Supernaw to undergo a psychiatric evaluation after he made a series of threats in court during a hearing into a fight he started with police.In recent years, he has also been charged twice with marijuana possession.The Texas singer is best known for his one and only Billboard#1 'I Don't Call Him Daddy', a cover of the Kenny Rogers record.He went on to have four more top 30 records including 'Reno' in 1992, 'Red and Rio Grande' in 1994, 'What'll You Do About Me' in 1995 and 'Not Enough Hours In The Night' in 1995.But Paisley has been arrested on numerous occasions over the last six years for public intoxication, marijuana possession.

On 2 July a Houston judge for the singer not competent to stand trial for his drug offences.

He was ordered to Rusk State Hospital to complete 120 days of treatment.
