Lana Clarkson Tribute

British Rockers Pay Tribute To Lana Clarkson....

A little-known British rock group has penned a tribute to late actress Lana Clarkson, who lost her life in a shooting incident at music mogul Phil Spector's California home in 2003.As court watchers in Los Angeles and those close to the B-movies star await a verdict in the five-month Spector murder trial, The Climb are winning rave reviews for their new song, Lana.Singer Andrea Barber says the tune is meant as "a dig at Phil Spector", adding, "I finished writing the song... around 28 February, 2005. I never imagined it would take this long for the trial to be completed! Surely the jury can see it's his fault?"She (Clarkson) would definitely still be here if it weren't for him, and I think he should be sent down for it. I'd have locked him up and thrown away the key quite a while ago."Lana seemed like a truly lovely woman."Clarkson's former publicist and friend Edward Lozzi insists the song is a "tonic" for those who are still mourning the actress. He says, "As we wait with white-knuckled patience for the jury to do the right thing and convict Phil Spector for murdering Lana Clarkson, I found it refreshing to listen and see this perspective of Lana from 20-something rocker girls in the U.K."

The jury in the Spector murder trial will resume deliberation on Monday (17Sep07) after failing to reach a verdict in its first week of reviewing the evidence.

Spector, 67, is accused of second-degree murder in the 2003 shooting death of Clarkson. The record producer's lawyers maintain the depressed actress shot herself at Spector's mansion.
