Sienna Miller signs petition against animal testing

Sienna Miller is the latest star to support the BUAV (The British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection) No Cruel Cosmetics campaign to end animal testing on toiletries and cosmetics sold in the EU.

The A-List actress turned fashion designer is the latest celebrity to lend her support to the campaign that already has some super heavyweight signatures already on the petition, including Sir Paul McCartney, Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt and British acrtress Jenny Seagrove.

Although there is a ban in the UK and EU that prevents the use of animals to test make up and other products, companies are still allowed to sell products in the UK that have been tested on animals in other parts of the world.

A ban preventing the importing and exporting of animal tested products is due to come into effect in 2013, but there is a growing concern that this date may be delayed.

It is this that is pushing the BUAV to launch the No Cruel Cosmetics campaign, calling for the 2013 date to go ahead as planned.

Already over 100,000 people across the EU, including the aforemetioned celebrities, have signed the petition that will be sent to the European Parliament.

The BUAV petition can be signed at NoCruelCosmetics.org
