Released 12th March (Digital) / 19th March (Physical) Modular/Island RecordsNew Young Pony Club – three girls, two gents and a sparkling bag full of sass that will have boys going wild and girls wishing they were in a band – continue to lead the charge of ultra modern disco hipsters everywhere with their new single ‘The Bomb’.The limited release of single ‘Ice Cream’ in the latter half of 2006 coupled with a support slot on Lily Allen’s UK tour and an ever-present TV ad have helped the five piece saunter almost unnoticed into the consciousness of the country at large. During the same period they managed to cement their already sizeable fanbase, sign to one of the most forward thinking labels of the moment in Modular Records, and begin work on what is to be one of the musical cognoscenti’s most eagerly awaited albums of 2007.‘The Bomb’ adds to the band’s blueprint so elegantly sketched out in the aforementioned ‘Ice Cream’. Where that track displayed sharp corners and a glacial cool, The Bomb brings a warmer, richer air to proceedings. Ty’s lyrical web is once again the main attraction with a series of out-there couplets designed to bemuse, confuse and tantalise at will, while Andy’s production brings together the best bits of ESG, Tom Tom Club and LCD Soundsystem into entirely new shapes. The band go on tour in the new year as part of the NME tour 2007

New Young Pony Club Announce Debut UK Tour

After wowing the masses on the NME “indie rave” tour and selling out their London warm up dates in less than a day, New Young Pony Club embark on their debut headline tour throughout UK.

The demand for New Young Pony Club is fever pitch and the three girls and two boys, (including the NME Cool List lead singer and provocateur, Tahita) are setting the world alight with their brand of disco-embellished pop, picking up diverse fans such as David Bowie, Tiga, Klaxons, Lily Allen and LCD Soundsystem along the way.

Live favourite and Intel advert soundtrack “Ice Cream” gets a full release in May with Soulwax and Herve providing massive remixes. The band have almost finished recording their debut album, which will be released in June. Early listens fulfil the promise of one of the most exciting records of the year.

Due to demand, the band will also be touring Australia, Japan, US, France, Germany and Scandinavia during March/April.
