Kelis arrested in South Beach
R&B star Kelis Rogers-Jones was arrested on Miami's South Beach late last week for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. The wife of rapper Nas somehow managed to get herself caught up in a prostitution sting.
The singer who is famed for her fashion sense and hits such as I hate you so much right now and Milkshake was taken to Dade County Jail for processing.
Timbaland lends a hand
Super-producer Timothy Mosely, commonly known as Timbaland has offered his support to American presidential candidate Hilary Clinton.
The rapper will be hosting a fund raiser for Clinton, wife of former president, Bill Clinton in Miami where he resides on March 31st.
Tickets for the event are priced at $1,000.
The 2008 Presidential campaign is the first to include a female and an African American as hopefuls for the Democrat party.
Book to Russell's Resume
The Founder of one the worlds most prestigious Hip-Hop labels, def Jam is joining the many who have gone on to put their thoughts and mantras to paper and write a book.
Russell Simmons who founded the Def Jam label out of his room at New York University in the late eighties along with Rick Rubin, is readying to release his book Do You! in late April.
The book will apply the mantras that the successful entrepreneur has lived his life by to encourage his ongoing wealth and success.
Ludacris Wins Award for Helping runaways.
Atlanta based rapper Christopher 'Ludacris' Bridges was presented with another award this past week. This one by the National Runaway Switchboard in the USA for his help with runaways.
The award comes after endless involvement in the bettering of communities and issues which effect our youth. Ludacris has a song on his Grammy winning album Release Therapy called Runaway Love which features R&B legend, Mary J Blige.
Last week the rapper lost his father to unknown causes.
Foxy Brown given YET another chance
Brooklyn rapper Inga Marchand was given another chance last week when she admitted to being guilty of violating her probation whilst on a trip to Florida where the rapper was once again arrested for disorderly conduct in a nail salon.
The Judge residing over the case, told the court and Miss Marchand that by allowing her this reprieve, she was literally giving her the 'keys to the jail house." Next time the rapper will most definitely be sent to jail.

50 Cent officially files Child Support Papers
Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson has started official proceedings to ensure that he is covered when it comes to providing for his seven year old son marquis.
50 who has constantly provided his child and the child's Mother, Shaniqua Tompkins, with financial assistance, in the form of homes and good schools has recently faced issues with his ex.
Tompkins has requested further money from the platinum selling rapper who exploded to stardom in 2003 with his album Get Rich or Die Trying. The situation between the parents was never made official but after recent demands, 50 Cent decided to make sure everything was legally binding. It has been reported that Tompkins has involved a lawyer, Raoul Lionel Felder who is famed for battling it out with parents who aren't accepting responsibility for thier children.

Bobby Brown also in Hot Water
R&B singer and ex of Whitney Houston was also in trouble this week when it came to financial support for his two daughters from a previous relationship.
The artist was arrested at his daughters cheer leading practice in Boston and thrown in jail until he paid $19,000 in back child support. Washington D.C. station Hot 99.5 FM came to his rescue and bailed him out by paying his child support. The singer will now be employed at the radio station for a week.
