Stella Mc Cartney has banned size zero models from her new catwalk collection.

The 35-year-old designer has refused to allow any models under size 10 to showcase her new ready to wear collection at Paris Fashion Week.

Mc Cartney is the first British designer to take the decision and she is sending out a clear message to the industry.

According to reports, Stella even sent two models home from her castings because she thought they were too thin.

The size zero debate and the use of ultra thin models is still one of the hottest debates in the industry.

The British fashion council failed to ban skinny models from London Fashion Week recently.

However Stella’s determination to send out positive messages with healthy size 10 models is a welcome first step for the industry.
