Chris Hemsworth has revealed that he was nervous when he attempted improvisation for the first time in new comedy Vacation.
Hemsworth has tackled a comedy project for the first time with Vacation, which sees him work with director John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein, and saw him move out of his comfort zone . And while the actor admits that he was nervous about improvising on set he soon got into the swing of things.
Speaking to GQ magazine, the actor said: "I haven't been that nervous in a long time, But very quickly I realised, this is fun. There was no ego. Every day we'd be on set, laughing. I'm like, 'Are you kidding me? Why wouldn't I do more of this?' "
Filming is currently underway on the movie, which will see Hemsworth star alongside Chevy Chase, Ed Helms, Leslie Mann, Charlie Day, Christina Applegate, and Michael Pena - most of which are a dab hand when it comes to comedy movies. However we are not going to see Hemsworth’s comedy performance until November of next year.
2015 is going to be another busy and successful year for the actor as he has a string of movies on the horizon and a variation of roles - I really can’t wait to see him in action over the next twelve months as it is going to be a great year for the actor.
He will be reprising the role of Thor in Avenger: Age of Ultron, the first time that we have seen him in this role since the success of Thor: The Dark World at the end of 2013. The movie will see him reunite with Robert Downey Jr, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, and Jeremy Renner, while Joss Whedon is back in the director’s chair.
Blackhat will see him team up with filmmaker Michael Mann for the first time, while he will reunite with Ron Howard for In The Heart of the Sea: it will be the first time that he has worked with Howard since the success of F1 movie Rush.
He is set to return to The Huntsman - which he played for the first time in Snow White and the Huntsman - in The Huntsman, while a third Thor film is also on the horizon. Thor: Ragnarok is one of the upcoming Marvel movies and will be hitting the big screen in 2017.
Vacation is set to be released 15th November 2015.
