The Duchess of Cambridge will make a mid-week decision on whether she travels to Malta, a report says

Kate has been suffering with severe morning sickness in recent weeks, which has prevented her from fulfilling all of her engagements.

Clarence House recently confirmed that she will make a decision regarding which engagements she fulfils on a case by case basis, prompting speculation she will not travel to Malta for a two-day trip.

The visit is designed to mark the to mark the 50th anniversary of Malta's independence and she was set to arrive on the island on September 20.

Kate is currently suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum, which she did with her first pregnancy.

And according to a recent report in the Daily Mirror newspaper, Prince Harry decided to scrap plans to host a birthday party over the weekend due to Kate's morning sickness.

Harry reportedly felt it was "inappropriate" to hold a party while Kate was ill.

A source said: "Kate had been very involved in organising Harry's party, and once she fell ill he felt it wrong to let the event go ahead.

"He has promised his friends he will organise a post-30th birthday party when the time is right."
