The Channel 4 show will return on June 12 for a 90 minute episode, and the news got out after Evans hinted about the plans this week on his Radio 2 breakfast show.

"If it were to come back live on C4 on June 12 at 9pm, 90 minutes up from an hour," he quipped on the radio show.

He had previously expressed an interest in reviving the format, telling Zoe Ball last year that he's "bang up for it".

He did point out that the 20th anniversary doesn't actually fall this year however, joking he wants to do it anyway in the hope nobody notices.

TFI: Friday aired originally from 1996 to 2000 on Channel 4, on Fridays at 6pm. Evans left following his fifth series however, after discovering the sixth would be the last.

The final episodes were then presented by special guest hosts including Elton John and the Spice Girls.

Channel 4 have made no comment on the rumours of an anniversary special.
