Mark Wright has confessed that he hopes his time on Strictly Come Dancing will mean he has improved skills before his wedding.

Competing alongside a whole host of celebrities in this year's series of the BBC One dance show, he revealed he's looking forward to improving his rhythm following his vigorous training.

Speaking at the London Hilton on Park Lane at this week's TVChoice Awards, Mark said: "I've always had a fear of my wedding dance because if you can't move everyone's looking at you at that moment so I think that this is going to be great practice for it."

However he does believe his feet may affect his chances of winning the show, despite being paired with professional dancer Karen Hauer this past weekend.

"At the moment I'm learning the steps which is great but my biggest problem is natural rhythm and being able to move to the right beat. They say like, '5, 6, 7, 8' and I'm like, 'Where's 5?'"

Quizzed on whether he and Karen are getting along in training, he said: "I've heard that she's quite strict. As I said on the show, 'Oh I've got the best partner because she's so quiet and smiley and she's not strict', and then all the audience laughed and I was like, 'Strictly fans know more than me, this girl's strict!'"

Strictly Come Dancing continues later this year.
