Determined that the family need to celebrate Mick's birthday before she files a police report on Dean, Linda leaves the kids rattled with her silence and the two storm out. Making matters worse, Shirley arrives with a present, ignoring Linda's pleas that she leave and telling her she still doesn't believe her version of events. Meanwhile, Sharon's desperate to get an innocent Phil out of prison, before realising she won't be able to tell the entire truth for the sake of Ronnie's baby, who'd grow up without a father in his life. Shabnam bumps into Kush whilst training, and so pretends to be out of breath, leading him to believe he has the race win in the bag.
Tuesday, January 20, 2015 (7.30pm, BBC One)
Taking his nervous partner to the police to report Dean's assault, Mich promises he'll wait for Linda whilst she goes in to make a video statement - can she find the strength within herself to relive the experience one more time for the sake of her sanity? At the Square, Shirley demands Dean tell her exactly what goes on that night, and though he's angry at first he finally gives his mother his version of events.
Thursday, January 22, 2015 (7.30pm, 8.30pm, BBC One)
In tonight's double episode, Linda and Mick arrive home finding a farewell party for Sylvie being organised as she's being taken into care, but usual arguments and bickering means Nancy snaps and she demands to know the truth about what's going on with her parents. Apologising to Cora about the dance, Stan doesn't get the response he expects and soon finds himself alone with Sylvie, reminiscing and coming up with an idea. Billy's updated on the case by Sharon who tells him money needs to be raised with the sale of Phil's car, but she gets a shock at the Arches when she finds Max standing in the doorway.
Later, the Carters' commotion continues as Nancy warns Dean to stay away from the pub. Stan tells Shirley that she needs to fix everything, and so she goes to tell Mick the real reason she pretended to be his sister. Dark secrets spill and the family begin to tear even further apart, meaning one more bombshell from Stan isn't timed in the greatest fashion.
