A 103-year-old man has challenged Usain Bolt to a race.

''I try to stay in top shape and stay disciplined and healthy. That's important for everyone - even Usain Bolt.''

Hidekichi Miyazaki - who holds the 100 metres world record for men aged over 100-years-old - has reportedly gotten in touch with the world's fastest man to say, 'Let's rumble!'

Mr. Miyazaki - who can run the distance in 29.83 seconds compared with Bolt's 9.58 - told The Sun newspaper: ''I'd love to race Bolt. I'm keeping the dream alive.

''I try to stay in top shape and stay disciplined and healthy. That's important for everyone - even Usain Bolt.''

The sprinter - who was born in Japan in 1910, stands at just 5ft tall and weighs in at 42kg - also revealed the secret to his longevity.

He added: ''I eat my tangerine jam every day.''
